Can Michael Jordan Get Community Support?

IT has been a long time!

But, we are back! There was so much going on I apologize but we are ready! We hope you are!

This morning we will start of with an entertainment topic in the area.

The hot topic in Charlotte (other than Bob Johnson's comment) is do we think the community now that Michael Jordan is majority owner will the community support him? And will Michael making a strong effort to get out and be more visible in the community? And I have to ask what efforts do we think will make Michael more visible?

In most cases IT is easier said than done. So, I'm going to keep quiet! But I never said I would stop making IT happen!

.::BAY AREA IS READY TO PLAY::
PLAYDATE BAY AREA MAKES ITS DEBUT AUGUST 1,2009
“Nightlife in Bay Area will never be the same…”

Bay Area, CA, July 15, 2009--Timeless Entertainment Concepts (TEC) LLC, an Atlanta-based event planning and management company, along with Bay Area ’s own Du’Shawn Noelle, LLC will launch a concept designed to offer an alternative to the everyday club scene called PlayDate Bay Area.

PlayDate was introduced November 2005 in Atlanta, Ga., by Timeless Entertainment Concepts and has since grown into one of the most sought after events across the country. The monthly game night has evolved from a small intimate group of 80-100 guests to thousands in a variety of cities including Atlanta, Oklahoma, Detroit, Dallas, Houston, Seattle, and Detroit. At a PlayDate event you will find everything from Poker to Pac-Man, Hungry Hungry Hippos to Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots, Monopoly to Twister, and a host of other must see games. PlayDate Bay Area is the latest location to join this rapidly growing phenomenon.

Du’Shawn Noelle, LLC is owned and operated by Kyion Williams and Lakeisha Johnson. Du’Shawn Noelle has a following that appreciates their unique brand and their passionate approach to bring something different to the Bay Area. “We already know the Bay Area is different from the other markets. But there was something missing and I think we have found that something with PlayDate,” says managing partner of Du’Shawn Noelle LLC, Lakeisha Johnson. Kyion Williams a native of Detroit, Michigan teamed up with LaKeisha Johnson who relocated from Baton Rouge, Louisiana to bring about the best in social event planning to the Bay Area. Both Johnson and Williams have had the opportunity to observe the many positive changes in the city over recent years. “We are not discrediting the club scene or promoters we just felt like PlayDate was something new, exciting, and in these bad economic times who can beat the admission price,” say Kyion Williams. Their experience with PlayDate Atlanta was inspiring and brought a new perspective to how adults could socialize without the typical atmosphere of the "club scene.”

“PlayDate has a fresh way of looking at nostalgic games we all know and love. Bringing such a creative option to nightlife in the Bay Area will attract many of those who have grown tired of the current mundane nightlife scene,” said Imari Havard, CEO of TEC.

PlayDate is taking a classic yet simple approach to solve a widespread problem in adult nightlife activities. No matter the city, it is typical to find that the only options revolve around the most popular nightclub, the newest restaurant, lounge or bar. Collective research has revealed that many have grown bored with the same entertainment choices so they are more willing to step out of the box and try something new. PlayDate Bay Area will offer an environment open to those who are single, married, in their 20’s or in their 50’s, and get a genuine interaction that breaks down the straining barriers typically found in the typical club scene.

“I have witnessed skeptics come into an event and walk out having had the time of their lives. Where else can you go at the age of 30-something to have a cocktail and play Musical Chairs?” states Ryan Hill COO of TEC.

PlayDate Bay Area launches Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the Hilton San Francisco, 333 O’Farrell Street, San Francisco, California from 9 p.m.-2 a.m. with an advance pre-sale ticket admission of $10. Please note all proceeds from the event day raffle will be benefiting Word Assembly Community Development Center. For more information please visit www.PlayDateBayArea.com or contact Felisha Fletcher, 919.247.5973 or socialdirector22@gmail.com for interviews, photos, videos, or media passes.

FYI!!! DID YOU KNOW? YOU should KNOW!

You've studied the issues and cast your ballot. Now all that's left to do is bide your time until the results start coming in for John McCain and Barack Obama. To help you in that effort, we introduce a list of election fun facts for your brain-candy pleasure.

Why do we vote on a Tuesday... in November?

The short answer: We used to be a nation of farmers.

The long answer: Congress chose November because the harvest was over and the weather wouldn't be bad enough to prevent people from traveling.

As for Tuesday, people used to have to travel overnight to their polling location. (In 1845, horse was the preferred method of transport.) In an effort to avoid religious days of rest, Congress chose Tuesday, leaving Monday and Wednesday as travel days. Tuesday was voting (and horse-resting) day.
